Conservation Architect Michael Gray presents a talk about the Wyvern Theatre currently Swindon’s main performance venue. It was designed by the eminent Architects Casson Conder & Partners and opened to much acclaim in 1971. In the talk he will explain the political, artistic and social context in which the complex was commissioned and how the project was never fully realised. He will describe how the site was developed and offer an interpretation of the architecture leading to a commentary on some of the current challenges facing the site.
