In Autumn 2019, the Art on Tour project was launched with art from Swindon’s collection being loaned to STEAM Museum and the Civic Offices.
Early this year, Katie Ackrill and Mags Parker were set to launch an extensive Art on Tour education and engagement programme from Swindon Museum and Art Gallery, with the aim of sharing more of Swindon’s art collection with more people, and in more places throughout the town. Though the Covid-19 pandemic has meant delays for much of this work, it hasn’t stopped them from finding ways to keep the project alive.
In this talk Katie and Mags will discuss their plans for Art on Tour, the challenges of rewriting and delivering the project during lockdown, and their hopes for its future.
