Gavin James: In The Marlborough Night Garden

Gavin has always loved the night sky, but over the past eight years his passion for astrophotography has really grown. Together with Jonathan Genton, he produced an exhibition of astronomical photographs that was displayed in numerous schools, including Marlborough College, and published the accompanying book ‘In the Marlborough Night Garden – Volume 1’. Several of his photographs have featured on the BBC’s ‘The Sky at Night’ television programme and in their monthly magazine. This includes his image of The Andromeda Galaxy which won ‘Picture of the Month’ in December 2014. Gavin continues to create images of the night sky from his garden observatory in Marlborough and most recently his image of M44, The Beehive Cluster, was shortlisted for the 2018 International Astronomy Photographer of the Year Award.
