Free Walk and Talk: Discover Art on Tour at the Civic Offices

Join Art on Tour Engagement Officer, Katie Ackrill on this informal walk and talk as she tells you about artworks from Swindon’s collection, which are currently on display at the Civic Offices.

Highlights of the talk will include Claude Francis-Barry’s striking painting of Tower Bridge during the Second World War, Desmond Morris’ vibrant depiction of Diana Doors, and works by significant Swindon-born artists Roy Bizley and Harold Dearden.

The display is a part of the Art on Tour project, which will share artworks from Swindon Museum and Art Gallery’s collection with other venues in Swindon throughout 2020.  It includes a vibrant cross section of works spanning a time frame of 1904 – 2019, and covers a broad range of subject matter and styles.

This free, informal talk will be held at the Civic Offices from 12:30.  Please report to reception on arrival.

Please get in touch with our Project Engagement Officer if you are interested in bringing a large group (10 or more) to one of these talks, or would like to arrange a talk for a group outside the specified times:
