Free Walk and Talk: Discover Art at STEAM

Join Art on Tour Engagement Officer, Katie Ackrill on this informal walk and talk that will introduce visitors to artworks from Swindon’s modern and local art collections, currently on display at STEAM.

These include depictions of Swindon and its surrounding countryside from the 19th and early 20th centuries, which feature in displays of the GWR Offices.  Visitors will also be given exclusive access to a display of atmospheric paintings and lithographs by Swindon artist Hubert Cook, showing life in the GWR Works in the 1940s.

The displays are part of Swindon Museum and Art Gallery’s Art on Tour project, which will take Swindon’s significant art collections to more places throughout the town in 2020.

These talks are free and visitors do not need to hold a STEAM admission ticket to attend. Please sign up at reception upon arrival.

Please get in touch with our Project Engagement Officer if you are interested in bringing a large group (10 or more) to one of these talks, or would like to arrange a talk for a group outside the specified times:
